Community Involvement

Access Pro Bono envisions a justice system where all British Columbians have access to the legal help they need. They operate a free lawyer referral service and several pro bono programs serving the critical needs of people and non-profit organizations across BC.

At Ambleside Law, we aid Access Pro Bono by supporting the annual Pro Bono Going Public in 2024 to ensure access to legal services for thousands of British Columbians in need.

The Ambleside Dundarave Business Improvement Association (ADBIA) is an independent, non-profit association that provides a strong, unified voice for local businesses. ADBIA highlights the unique shopping, dining and cultural experiences and spectacular waterfront offered by the Villages of Ambleside and Dundarave.

Ron Nairne, managing partner of Ambleside Law is a member of the board of ADBIA.

Enhance West Van is a registered charitable society governed by members of the West Vancouver community. The society provides oversight and management to the West Vancouver community centre, aquatic centre and ice arena, with a mission of strengthening the community by providing enhanced programs and services to improve people’s lives.

Ron Nairne is a board member for Enhance West Van, and Ambleside Law is a proud supporter of Pumpkinfest, the annual fundraiser for Enhance.

Kay Meek Arts Centre is a charitable non-profit that creates a home for great arts experiences, gathering the community in an inspiring and inclusive environment, and providing access to cultural expression in its many forms. Featuring a 498-seat main stage theatre, the venue also has a black box theatre, a meeting/reception room, and a bright and welcoming lobby.

Ambleside Law is a longtime sponsor of Kay Meeks Art Centre, contributing to feature performances each season. This year we are the title sponsor for Music at the Movies: A Tribute to John Williams and Grant Lawrence and Friends.

Founded by local business people and professionals, the Rotary Club of Squamish encourages and fosters the idea of service as a basis of worthy enterprise, encouraging and fostering: acquaintance; high ethical standards; service in personal, business and community life; and the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace.

Anna Wood is a long-time volunteer and current executive member. She is involved in the international projects supported by the Rotary Club of Squamish and is the current International Service Committee Chair.

An entirely volunteer-run organization, Station 1 – West Vancouver safely responds to marine emergencies in Howe Sound and English Bay. Members of Station 1 are on call 24/7, 365 days a year. Volunteers are from diverse backgrounds and live within 15 minutes of Horseshoe Bay.

Ambleside Law supports Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue Station 1 – West Vancouver by donating funds to support this essential rescue service.

Offering a lifetime of enjoyment with family and friends, West Vancouver Yacht Club (WVYC) welcomes people of all ages who are passionate about boating. The WVYC hosts competitions and provides education as well as quality facilities, fine food and camaraderie. The WVYC has evolved over its 75 years to be a major player in the Pacific Northwest yachting scene and contributor to yachting in Canada.

Ambleside Law supports West Vancouver Yacht Club by sponsoring Pumpkin Bowl to help provide aspiring sailors with the opportunity to compete in a top-level regatta.
