Dear valued clients,
We wish to notify you of a change in our firm’s leadership, and to emphasize our commitment to providing excellent service to our clients during this time of transition.
On February 26, the Law Society of British Columbia made the decision to suspend Mark Sager’s license for two years, upon his admission of professional misconduct. This decision relates to a conflict of interest arising from Mr. Sager’s actions while serving as administrator of an estate.
Mr. Sager’s errors arose from his desire to help a longtime friend and client. In doing so, he neglected to follow the required steps to ensure the protection of the public. While Mr. Sager’s intention was to fulfill his client’s wishes, he regrets his errors. The Law Society’s decision applies only to Mr. Sager, and no one else at the firm was involved.
Mr. Sager is a founding partner of the firm, and has always had his clients’ interests at heart. When he was elected as mayor of West Vancouver, he expressed his plan to retire from the firm. We are confirming that he will be retired from legal practice as of April 1 this year. The firm thanks Mr. Sager for his many years of dedicated service.
Our firm is committed to serving our clients’ best interests well into the future, while providing the exceptional legal services you’ve come to expect from us. We will be posting updates about changes in our leadership in the very near future. If you wish to discuss this matter or if you have any concerns, please reach out to managing partner Ron Nairne by phone or email.
Sincerely,
Ron
